Newpaper worthy and Amy gets the scoop from Dr. Chamberlain

So the Register newspaper photographer called just now and said she will be in touch with Mike and Amy and the hospital to see if she can come over and take a photo of them for the newspaper. Richard Chang who is an arts writer spoke to me yesterday and thought he might write something. I think it is a great thing.  I feel that what has happened here is very news worthy and important. Not just for us and the people that know us but for all people. The experience and challenges are significant and I think Amy and Mike are inspirational and should share their story. Amy has donated the gift of life to Mike.

I hope they do decide to publish an article about them. I told Amy and Mike and they are both game to have a photo taken today.

Also, the real good news is that it looks like they will discharge Amy from the hospital today. They said maybe about 3:00 pm. I can't wait because I know she will feel better once she is out of the hospital. She will rest better and really start to see her recovery move along better.

I'm glad to hear that Amy is in a good shape. She is a real fighter. She is admired by her students of how great she is in sharing the knowledge she has with them. I'm sure that all of her students will miss taking class with her this summer.

Mike and Amy's story is a wonderful example of love, sacrifice, and friendship. I hope the paper does share their experience with its readers as it inspires by showing how such selflessness and commitment can greatly and deeply impact friends and family.
