As you know, Mikie and I will be going in for the kidney transplant on Monday morning. The surgery is between 7-12 am. Andrea and Kevin will be updating the blog with our status and additional info. There is usually no cell phone reception, so we will be using the blog to connect with you!
I will be recovering at the Grand Central Art Center in Santa Ana later in the week. I might not up to visitors for a few days, but please send emails, texts, gifts and chocolates. I hope you understand. This has been amazing and Im very excited, but also exhausted emotionally and physically. Thanks to all my students, friends and family who have helped me the last six months.

I am finally getting to the blog that Amy told me about a few weeks ago. I was not at all surprised to find "graphic" details of this event. Actually would have been surprised to see otherwise! Also, expected (and got) blurry photos of everything - EXCEPT the surgery photos and kidney! Amy, you are loved by so many. If my mother were here (that's Grandma to you!) she would say, "that's my girl!" I will see if I can get her on the phone to you soon. Love you ,kid. Chocolate is en route.
