Amy and Mike are doing well today

I just helped Amy get out of bed for the first time since surgery. They encouraged her to walk today and she got up sat in a chair for awhile. She is so strong. Next we will be walking her in the hall later today. She is on morphine and comfortable now. Her friend Helaine is here helping her with love and support. Also with ice chips which are helping to soothe her a great deal. She is resting now.

Mike looks great and the nurse walked him in the hall for the first time since surgery. He is doing so well that he will be moved out of ICU today and up to the 4th floor. Once on the 4th floor he can have a few visitors. I am so encouraged with his progress.

He says he can feel her kidney is working for him. He is already feeling better. Doctors said his creatinine is at 3.5 and it was at 5.9. So it os going down as they had hoped. They want him at 1.5 and we know this is going to work.

Both of them are dong so well.
