Knitting Grass

My first big solo exhibition opens July 5 in the Project Room at the Grand Central Art Center. Here is some of the progress- to date I have knitted over 250 rolls of yarn.  But without Renee, Brando, Cerise (Jammie Girl who will also get her entry!), Eric, Andrea and many many more people, this show would not be possible. And thanks to Andrew and Jarek from Icreate Designs who are creating www.freerangeknitting.com.  Thanks also to Michelle and Chris Hoff for their generous grant!
The woman in the last photo with me is the co-creator of Pseudo-Sod, the knitted grass car cover.  Her names include Melissa, Brando, and Roommate.  She is a former student, and after the semester ended we stayed friends.  A few things you should know about Brando: she is in nursing school, she can quote Anchorman, Dodgeball, and Grizzly Man, she is compassion personified, she has a nick in the starfish tattoo on her foreman from a plastic glove that snapped it while she was working at the hospital, her car radio is very loud, she has a sense of three dimensional space that saved the car cover project, and she loves Jewish delis.  And she gives me strength when Im in short supply.
